Bike Project – 3 (The Test Drive)

So it is a nice fall day, I am hanging out at a elementary school parking lot on a cobbled together bicycle, hoping that I had not been wasting my time and that I would not need a trip to the doctors if something goes wrong.

Not only did I not have any problems, but the ride was great! Smooth, fast and light… the 52 tooth cranks really pushed the bike along. I think I might have actually made motorcycle sounds when I rode around the parking lot. I am not sure if it makes it weirder or not, but I actual owned a motorcycle at the time so I really did know what that ride felt like.

So it was time to get new wheels, a saddle, chain and figure out the brakes. I know a lot of people ride fixed gears without brakes, but having ridden a fixed gear for a few years at this point there had been times when I was glad they were there. Especially if I was going to leave the 52 tooth crank on the bike.

Last decision is what color would I like it to be?
